As The Mountains Surround Jerusalem

With security tensions on Israel’s southern border, we are mindful today of one of Israel’s best-known “songs of ascent,” the famous Psalms of praise sung by pilgrims ascending the Temple steps to worship God in Jerusalem. They sang, “As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds His people from this time forth and forever. For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous…” Psalm 125:2-3. Today, this Psalm is our prayer.
Serving the Christian community worldwide as Israel’s premier Travel Agency, SAR-EL presently hosts multiple church groups, conventions and ministry projects visiting Israel from many nations. Operating at full throttle during this peak season, we want to tell our travel partners from around the world, as well as relatives & friends of those presently visiting Israel, that all our groups are safe, kept away from harm’s way, and enjoying their planned site visits and activities.
In fact, unless one is glued to the news, life in most of Israel continues as usual, and our visitors and pilgrims remain committed to their itineraries and activities, having a great time throughout the land. With pleasant and warm fall weather, traveling throughout Israel these days is probably the most comfortable it has been for many months, and our guests love it.
For you who keep watch with us in prayer, let another of the songs of ascent guide your prayers, saying, “…He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you, the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm, He will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” Psalm 121.
Thank you for your friendship and your prayers.
