Day 1 - Arrival in Cairo
Arrive at Cairo Airport. After airport formalities, proceed to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Cairo .
Day 2 – Cairo
This morning, start your tour at the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, housing the gold treasures of King Tutankhamen. See a wonder of the ancient world, the Pyramids of Giza and the nearby Sphinx. Continue to Hanging Church dating to the late part 4th and early 5th Century. This Basilica was built on the top of the south gate of the Fortress of Babylon. Then visit Church of Abu Sergah, built on the cave in which the Holy Family stayed and is regarded by visitors as a source of blessing. After your Dinner Cruise and Show on the Nile River, return to your hotel in Cairo for overnight.
Day 3 - Cairo – Sinai
Check out continue to El Khalili Bazaar to shop for souvenirs. Drive east towards Sinai passing Suez Canal. Check in at the hotel for dinner and overnight in St. Catherine or Dahab.
Day 4 - St. Catherine – Tabah
Early morning mountain climbing on Mount Sinai, where the Ten Commandments were given to Moses (Optional). Enjoy the breathtaking view of sunrise from the peak. Return to your hotel for breakfast. Check out of your hotel then visit St. Catherine Monastery (if open) and Moses’ Spring. Then drive to Taba border. Cross border into Israel. After border formalities, meet your Israeli tour guide provided by Sar-El Tours. Drive through Arava and the Dead Sea. Check in at hotel in Bethlehem or Jerusalem.
Day 5 – Jerusalem
After breakfast, Drive to Mt. of Olives for our panoramic view of the Old and New Jerusalem. Visit the Church of Ascension and the PATER NOSTER Church where Jesus taught the “Our Father” written in many languages. We shall start with our Procession along the Palm Sunday Road all the way to Dominus Flevit where Jesus saw the destruction of Jerusalem. Continue To the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations, the place that houses the rock where Jesus wept during His agony and have our morning mass. Proceed to the old city and see the Pool of Bethesda where Jesus healed a blind man. See the Church of St. Anne, the Dome of the Rock and the Wailing Wall, the most sacred place for the Jews. Follow the Stations of the Cross in VIA DOLOROSA, from the Chapel of Flagellation to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, where we can find the last station. Here we will meditate and have our spiritual sharing. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 – Jerusalem and Bethlehem
After breakfast, proceed to Mt. Zion and visit the tomb of David and the Dormition Abbey, the same abbey believed to be the place of Virgin Mary’s assumption to heaven and finally at the Room of the Last Supper where the Holy Spirit descended among the Apostles. Visit also the Church of St. Peter of Gallicantu, which was built on the house of Caiphas where Jesus was tried and denied three times. Drive to Bethlehem passing on the way, Rachel’s tomb and the Shepherd’s field. Visit the Church of Nativity and St. Catherine’s Church. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 – Ein Karem and the Dead Sea
After breakfast we will visit Ein Karem and see the church of St. John the Baptist and the Visitation Church or Church of the Magnificent, where the Virgin Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth. Visit Jericho, the oldest city in the world for over view. Continue south to the Dead Sea, the lowest place on Earth. Visit Qumran, where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered. Enjoy the float in the Dead Sea. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 - Jerusalem – Jaffa – Caesarea – Haifa – Tiberias
Check out of hotel. Next stop is Jaffa, which like Venice and Genoa, is a great port of the times. Walk through Jaffa’s reconstructed Artist’s Quarter. Drive through the bustling city of Tel Aviv.
Drive to Caesarea, built by Herod the Great, where the Peter baptized the centurion Cornelius. See the Roman Amphitheater, Aqueduct and many other ruins. Continue to Mount Carmel in Haifa, Israel’s third largest city. See the Bahal Shrine and Gardens. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias or Nazareth.
Day 9 - Galilee Area
Visit the Beatitudes Church where Jesus preached the sermon on the mount, the Church of the Primacy of St. Peter and Tabgha where Jesus performed the multiplication of the loaves and fish. Continue the Capernaum where you will see a 4th century Synagogue and St. Peter’s House. Take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Continue to Cana where Jesus changed the water in to wine. Couples will renew their marriage vows in the Church of Cana. Next stop is Nazareth. It is here where the Angel Gabriel appeared before Mary and where Jesus spent his boyhood. Visit the Church of the Annunciation and St. Joseph’s workshop and the home of the Holy Family. Proceed to Yardenit, a baptismal site on Jordan River. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 10 - Tiberias – Mt. Tabor – Amman, Jordan
Check out of hotel. Proceed to Mt. Tabor to visit the Church of the Transfiguration. Cross border into Jordan. Continue to Madaba, land of fruit and water where you can see the first Holyland Map. Continue to Mt. Nebu, believed to be the burial site of Moses. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Amman.
Day 11 - Petra Excursion
Today, you will visit the fabled “Red Rose City” of Petra, the 2000 year old Nabatean capital, now one of the world’s wonders. Take a horse ride to the Siq. Then walk to the Treasury, a rose colored monumental building artfully carved out of sheer rock. Visit the other temples and tombs carved into the mountainside. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 12 - Departure
Amman city tour (time permitting). Transfer to the airport for our safe flight back home.
