Day 1: Arrive Ben Gurion Airport, transfer to Jerusalem; overview of city before hotel check in. Overnight Jerusalem
Day 2: In the Footsteps of Yeshua-the Holy City: We begin on the Mount of Olives, with its panoramic view of the walled city of Jerusalem. Entering the Old City we will walk along the Via Dolorosa and visit the Pool of Bethesda. Walk through the Jewish Quarter of the Old City including Excavations from the First Temple Period; you will also get a chance to walk through Hezekiah’s tunnel and the streets of the City of David. Overnight Jerusalem.
Day 3: Samaria: Drive through Beth-El, visit Shiloh, Alon Moreh. Overnight in Jerusalem
Day 4: Wilderness and Dead Sea: We travel this morning to the lowest part of the earth! We will visit the mountain fortress of Masada, the historical last stand of the zealots against mighty Rome. At En Gedi we will learn about David and King Saul and hike to the waterfalls. Then to Qumran where we can see where many of the Dead Sea Scrolls were written and later found and we’ll end the day with a swim in the Dead Sea. Overnight in Jerusalem
Day 5: Jerusalem – New and Old: We begin with the Temple Mount and a visit to the Western Wall; then to the Southern Steps of the 2nd Temple. Visit the Holocaust Museum Yad Vashem. End the day with the Garden Tomb. Overnight Jerusalem.
Day 6: Thru the Land of the Philistines: Before leaving Jerusalem we will visit the Israel Museum where we’ll see the model of 2nd Temple Period Jerusalem. Afterwards, we’ll visit the Shrine of the Book where many of the Dead Sea Scrolls are on display. We then visit Bethlehem and oversee Shepherd’s Field. At the Elah Valley we will read about David’s encounter with Goliath and then on to Tel Beth Shemesh and oversee the Soreq Valley where we will read about the return of the Holy Ark and the birth of Samson. Drive through Valley of Ayalon to Tel Aviv. Overnight Tel-Aviv
Day 7: Up the Coast to the Galilee: Port of Jaffa, ancient Herodian port city Caesarea, Mt Carmel where Elijah battled the Gods of Baal, Tel Megiddo and the Valley of Armageddon; thru Nazareth and Cana to the Sea of Galilee. Overnight Tiberius
Day 8: In the Footsteps of Yeshua in the Galilee: We begin the day by seeing the remains of a 2000 year old fishing boat; next to Mt. of Beatitudes where “The Sermon on the Mount was given; on to Korazin, one of the cities where Yeshua taught; Capernaum known as “His Own Town”; We then go to the other side of the Sea – “Land of the Gaderenes”; In the afternoon we go on a boat ride and end our day at the Jordan River Baptismal Site. Overnight Tiberius.
Day 9: South of the Kinneret: This morning takes us to Mt Arbel for a breathtaking view of the Sea of Galilee. As we continue we pass Mt. Tabor and visit En Harod, also known as “Gideon’s Spring”; from here we can view Mt Gilboa before arriving at the biblical town at Bet Shean. Overnight Tiberius.
Day 10: The Northern Reaches of the Promised Land: A nature walk thru Tel Dan leads us to Jeroboam’s Alter. Visit the springs and ruins of Caesarea Philippi; then we drive up to the strategic Golan Heights.
Day 11: Half-Day Leisure at the Sea of Galilee. Enjoy a swim and some quiet time on the shores where Yeshua walked and ministered.
Day 12: Depart from Ben Gurion Airport
