Tips and Insights | Israel

Ready to visit Israel? If you’re planning a trip in the near future to travel to Israel, or simply dreaming of walking the streets of Jerusalem, we wanted to offer you a few insights and tips on what to expect here in the Holy Land. The beautiful landscapes, ocean views, historical sites, and cultural explorations are not without their uniqueness and individualities. Let’s review a few.

Foods of Israel

Kosher. A word that you’ve perhaps heard as friends discuss Jewish culture or the Land. Within the Land, there are various sects of Judaism. The religious of the country have strict rules on food, restaurants, and methods of preparation. On your next trip to Israel, you’ll view ‘kosher’ signs in restaurants, and see the religious choosing their meals based on these rules. The key rules fall on the use of meat and milk – which cannot be mixed – as well as closing rules on Saturday (Shabbat).

Public Transportation

One of the joys of Israel! We at Sar-El Tours would love to drive you throughout the country. However, if you find yourself in need of a train, bus or taxi ride throughout the city or country, you won’t have to look far. In Jerusalem, we host the ‘light rail’ that will take you from North to South, then East to West depending on your destination. Prices are cheap, and frequency is excellent. For bus systems, Egged Bus company is most prominent in the main cities of Israel. Frequency and price are also great.

Friendliness of Israelis

You will be wonderfully surprised! Israelis are some of the warmest people in the world. With the Middle Eastern influence of hospitality and service, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the warmth and friendliness that you receive from our locals.
