Travel Update from Israel

June 16, 2026

Shalom, Dear Friends and Partners,

We are happy to share some encouraging news from Jerusalem today.

Reasons for Hope

Following recent military and diplomatic developments, efforts toward a ceasefire and broader regional stability continue. While it is still too early to know exactly how things will unfold, there is growing hope that the current conflict is nearing its end.

Please join us in praying that these efforts will lead to a significant period of quiet, stability, and recovery for Israel and the region. We also ask for your prayers for wisdom for Israel's leaders, the leadership of the United States, and all those involved in these discussions.

We are grateful to the leadership and people of the United States for their steadfast commitment to Israel's security, and to all those working diligently to help bring greater stability to the region.

Above all, our hope is in the Lord. We trust in the God of Israel, who watches over His people, remains sovereign over the affairs of nations, and faithfully fulfills His promises.

Tourism in Israel

Despite the challenges of recent months, tourism in Israel has never completely stopped. Sar-El has continued hosting groups throughout this period, and we currently have groups touring the country as you read this update.

Life across most of Israel has been operating normally for several months. Schools, businesses, hotels, restaurants, attractions, and pilgrimage sites are open and active.

Today, virtually the entire country is open for touring. Only a few sites along the northern border with Lebanon remain temporarily restricted, and we expect many of these areas to reopen soon.

Next month, Sar-El Tours will host the Peace of Jerusalem International Convention, expected to bring more than 3,000 participants from around the world to Israel.

Airlines Continue to Return

Ben Gurion Airport remains fully operational.

Alongside El Al, Arkia, and Israir, international carriers currently serving Israel include Ethiopian Airlines, Etihad Airways, FlyDubai, LOT Polish Airlines, and others.

Among the many international airlines announcing their return to Israel in the coming weeks and months are:

  • Air France — expected next week
  • Air Europa — expected shortly thereafter
  • Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, and Eurowings — expected July 1
  • Swiss International Air Lines — expected August 1
  • Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and Air Canada — expected during September

From our experience, when stability returns, airlines often resume service sooner than expected, and additional carriers tend to follow.

Sar-El Is Ready to Welcome You

Our offices have continued operating normally throughout this entire period.

Our hotels are welcoming guests, our buses are on the road, and our team continues to serve visitors throughout the country.

The autumn season is already looking busy, and we expect demand to continue growing in the months ahead.

If Israel is on your heart for 2026 or 2027, now is a great time to begin planning. As confidence returns and demand continues to grow, hotel availability may become more limited in the months ahead.

If you have questions about travel conditions, itineraries, airline schedules, or future opportunities, please contact your travel agent, tour operator, or any member of the Sar-El team. We would be happy to assist you.

From Our Hearts

Thank you for standing with Israel through your prayers, friendship, encouragement, and visits.

Please continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for wisdom for Israel's leaders and her allies, for protection over Israel's soldiers and security forces, and for a long season of stability and security throughout the region.

"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May those who love you prosper."
Psalm 122:6

We will continue to keep you informed as developments unfold.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Israel very soon.

With blessings from Zion,

Samuel Smadja
and the Sar-El Tours & Conferences Team
